Stone is our oldest promise to the future.
We carve ourselves into it believing that memory can be made permanent; that names, beliefs and stories will outlive those who created them.
But time is patient. It wears away faces, blunts inscriptions and leaves only hints of the lives once recorded there.
Every carving becomes a fragment. Every monument another unfinished sentence. In the end, even stone remembers imperfectly.
